Who's In

For Corporates

Can't Join In Person? Fund The Fight Instead.

Picture your company's name behind every kilogram of trash pulled off Malaysia's coastlines this September. Pledge RM10 for every kg our top team collects, and turn their hard work into real funding for ocean conservation β€” if work keeps you too busy to clean up together. πŸ˜‰

RM10 = 1KG Collected

Funds go directly toward ocean conservation β€” a simple, transparent way to back the challenge without needing volunteers on the ground.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before you jump in 🌊

The Basics

What is the Jom Kutip Challenge?+
A nationwide, month-long cleanup challenge running throughout September 2026. It brings three major clean-up moments together β€” International Coastal Cleanup Day (19 Sept), World Cleanup Day (20 Sept), and Malaysia Cleaning Day (26 Sept) β€” into one combined push to see how much trash Malaysia can collect, together.
Who's behind it?+
Jom Kutip Challenge is presented by Adopt A Beach Penang, alongside Blue Santa Malaysia and Reef Check Malaysia β€” with more communities welcome to join in.
Who can take part?+
Anyone. Companies, schools, university clubs, community groups, or a handful of friends β€” teams can be any size, and you don't need to be based in Penang. It's a nationwide challenge, open to every Malaysian state.
Is it only for coastal / beach cleanups?+
No β€” it isn't limited to beaches. Clean up wherever needs it most in your community.

Joining & Registering

How do we register a team?+
Two steps: (1) fill in the "Register Your Team" form on this page with your team/community name, contact person, phone, email, state, and estimated number of volunteers; (2) sign your team up on Blue Santa Malaysia so your results appear on the live leaderboard.
Is there a cost to register?+
No β€” registration is completely free.
Is there a registration deadline?+
No fixed deadline β€” you can register any time before or during September.

How It Works

What do we actually have to do?+
Four steps: Register your team β†’ Clean (as many times as you like throughout September) β†’ Log your haul's weight on Blue Santa Malaysia's live leaderboard after each cleanup β†’ Watch for the winners announcement in early October.
How do we win?+
The 3 teams with the highest total kilograms collected across all of September win. Every cleanup you log adds to your team's cumulative score, so frequency matters as much as any single haul.
Where can we track our progress?+
On the Blue Santa Malaysia website β€” a direct results dashboard is coming soon, and this page will be updated with that link once it's live.

For Corporates

We're a company that can't send volunteers β€” can we still take part?+
Yes. Companies can pledge RM10 for every kilogram the top team collects, funding ocean conservation directly instead of, or alongside, sending a team to clean up in person.
How do we set up a corporate pledge?+
Email [email protected] and the team will get it set up with you.
