Adopt a Beach Penang – Community Beach Clean-Ups

Adopt a Beach Penang is an independent community initiative focused on protecting and improving the coastal areas of Penang through consistent, on-the-ground action — with 100% of donations going directly to animal welfare.

We are a growing network of local people who share a sense of responsibility for our beaches.

Built entirely on voluntary effort, we unite residents, local stakeholders, and organizations to take shared responsibility for the condition, safety, and long-term sustainability of our beaches.

A huge thank you to Adopt A Beach Penang for supporting our Bosch PgP1 CTG team building - beach cleanup at Gertak Sanggul.

Getting out of the office and onto the beach was a perfect chance for us to put our department slogan into action: Caring for nature, Talented at working together, and leaving the beach Gorgeous! It was so nice to step away from our daily work and do something hands-on for the community.

The whole experience brought our team closer together and let us make a positive change for the environment. Thank you for making it possible and we hope to work with you again soon.

Thank you, Ella & Axel! It was such a fruitful event. It was indeed a big success the fact that it’s our first time running it. I hope we can repeat the effort in the future! :)

I’m glad and happy that the beach clean-up programme was carried out successfully. It was very encouraging to see the community come together to keep the beach clean. Our fishermen were also happy with the programme, and we truly appreciate everyone who took part and showed support.

Congratulations for a job well done! It's really inspiring that in such a short time with 28 volunteers to be able to collect 100kg of waste. Let's hope that there will be more and more of such activities in Penang and am looking forward to the next one coming soon. Thank you so much for the great job and support as always

When Axel first invited Selfless Together to join Penang Adopt A Beach for one of their beach clean-up events, I was truly excited. From start to finish, the entire event was exceptionally well organised by Axel and his dedicated team. The day began with a briefing by Axel himself, ensuring that every volunteer understood the importance of the initiative and the safety measures involved. All the necessary equipment was thoughtfully provided, allowing everyone to participate safely and comfortably. It was inspiring to see people from all walks of life coming together for a common purpose, including the MBPP team, local villagers, international volunteers from Taiwan, families, and many others. The sense of community and shared responsibility was truly heartwarming. In just two hours, an incredible amount of waste was collected, and the transformation of the beach was remarkable. Most importantly, our children had an unforgettable experience. They not only enjoyed the beauty of the beach but also learned the importance of caring for our environment through hands-on action. We are incredibly grateful to Penang Adopt A Beach for giving Selfless Together the opportunity to be part of such a meaningful initiative. We wholeheartedly encourage everyone to join their future beach clean-ups. Every pair of hands makes a difference, and together we can protect the beautiful beaches of Penang island.
