Great a Day at Teluk Bayu!

What an amazing day at Teluk Bayu Beach! Together with the wonderful children, families, and volunteers from the Sathya Sai Baba community, we removed over 346 kg of marine litter, filling more than 54 bags of rubbish.

A huge thank you to everyone who gave their time, energy, and smiles to help protect one of Penang’s beautiful beaches. Every clean-up makes a difference, and together we’re proving that small actions can create a big impact.

 What a wonderful event! 

Together with 16 dedicated Adopt a Beach volunteers and with the support of the local community of Gertak Sanggul, we travelled by boat to the remote White Beach—a beautiful stretch of coastline that has sadly been neglected for many years.

Despite the challenging access, our team collected an impressive 290 kg of rubbish across 116 bags. Most of the waste consisted of old plastic bottles and other debris that had been washed ashore by the sea.

To encourage future visitors to help care for this hidden gem, we also left behind a friendly message and a supply of garbage bags, inviting people to collect a little litter whenever they visit.

After the clean-up, we hiked back to the village and celebrated a job well done with delicious food and refreshing drinks at Country Home & Seafood Restaurant.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined, volunteered, and made this event possible. Together, we are proving that even the most remote beaches can be cared for when a community comes together.

A Big Thank You to the Students of The International School of Penang (Uplands)!

Together with a wonderful group of Uplands students, we cleaned a stretch of beach in Batu Ferringhi.

This clean-up was about more than just collecting rubbish—it was an opportunity to reflect on the importance of keeping our beaches clean and protecting our oceans.

Batu Ferringhi is fortunate to have its beaches regularly cleaned by MBPP and local business owners, so we collected a modest 10 kg of rubbish. That may not sound like much, but every piece removed is one less item that can end up in the sea.

A huge thank you to all the students and teachers who joined us. We hope the experience was both enjoyable and thought-provoking.

We had the great privilege of working with Reef Check Malaysia and the London Stock Exchange Group Penang on a clean-up at Karpal Singh Drive.

We were joined by around 30 dedicated volunteers who truly went the extra mile to make this stretch of coastline more beautiful.

Together, we collected over 60 kg of waste, including 11 kg of recyclable plastic bottles.

A big thank you to everyone involved—your effort and commitment made a real difference.

Recently, we had one of those beach cleans that reminds you why this matters.

We had 28 volunteers from Arrow’s PIC join us in the heart of George Town, at one of the last sandy stretches still used daily by the local fishing community.

Great energy, great people, and proper teamwork.Together, we collected around 100kg of waste (20 bags!)—a small but meaningful addition to the incredible ~45,000kg already removed by Reef Check Malaysia. Bag by bag, it all counts.

A real highlight was the local fishermen jumping in and working alongside us. We also connected with the village head, which hopefully opens the door for more clean-ups. As a small thank-you, we shared long-sleeved T-shirts—something useful for their time out at sea.

We recycled 2.5kg of plastic bottles through Riiicycle, and got lovely feedback from Goodera—though honestly, the volunteers made it easy. All in all: great day, strong momentum, and a growing community.
